Q & A (from A Bit of Fun)
(1) Where is this person from?
She was the only daughter of an aristocratic gold elf family in a major city of the traditional elven empire. Her father was the Trade, Economics, and Finance minister to the monarch, and she was raised familiar with the royal court. Since running away from home, she has never told anyone where she's from, or what her family name was. And only her very close friend Will knows very much of the history of her upbringing.
(2) How did she get to Thain?
When she reached puberty in her lonely sheltered ivory-tower existence, she found a way to escape into the city to meet up with men. Around the time of her parents deciding to arrange and force a political marriage upon her, they somehow discovered that she was acquiring a reputation in the city, and had developed an uncooperative attitude to their plans. So they locked her in her room to decide what to do with her, now that she didn't fit into their power plans. From this, she realized that they had never really loved her, and so she escaped her locked room and with the help of a friend fled the city.
She traveled a long while across the land, in every city along the way using her feminine charms to make gold as a lady of the evening. When she finally reached a sea port, she boarded a ship to anywhere far away. She wound up at Webster's Landing on Thain. In the port there, again she used her charms to make gold, until it went badly. She was nearly beaten to death by five drunken human sailors, and left in a rubbish heap. She likely would have died if Ammon had not found her.
(3) What does she want out of life?
She wants to to be self-reliant, and have power over situations and those that might threaten or harm her.
At the same time, she wants to have and understand love, and she seeks to belong to and surrender herself in ecstatic blissful devotion and service to someone or something.
She wants to know the bliss of absolute devotion that she learned with her first love Ammon, and so she is susceptible to being charmed by that which she feels might give her that again. Either a man with a charismatic dominating presence, or a god, or even Death itself.
Finding early on that the magical ore of the runestones on Thain would resurrect her from fatal mistakes, she became fascinated with them and with Death, and how they might be an avenue in her quest to learn to experience a perfect state of self-transcendence by surrender into Death.
She also studies people's various gods, and is curious to inquire and debate upon their effectiveness, towards how any god might be useful to obtain the bliss and power she craves. She takes the practical view that it is a matter of negotiation for a god to offer her what she wants for her committment in return, as any god's power exists only in proportion to the number and loyalty of his devotees.
Generally fascinated with power and its manifestations. The interplay of personal power— both in the surrender of her own will, or in the aquisition and use of power by charm and cleverness. The power of life and death in her sword, the power of Death itself, and any potential to share power with, or over, the god of Death. She has found that having power, and herself being the master, gives her a similar rush as in the state of devotion to a master. She has an urge to seek a place as the powerful devoted servant and agent of someone or something powerful.
(4) Whom does she serve?
Foremost she serves herself and her own needs and desires.
The only god she currently pays full homage to is Fenmarel Mestarine, the Lone Wolf, although she is much inclined to the philosophy of Sharess.
(5) What are her quirks/habits?
She is a lovely petite young elf woman with light bronzey skin, long black hair with bluish glints, and soulful large deep-emerald eyes. Elves generally think her very lovely, humans generally think her remarkably beautiful.
Until her mentor Ammon (whom she refers to as 'Megiltura', elven for Swordmaster) taught her survival in the wilderness and the art of the sword, she was extremely ignorant of most everything outside of the circumscribed aristocratic education given a sheltered marriageable commodity. Although now she has learned how to survive quite well, and is owning her personal power in social arenas and in the world in general, there are still the occasional odd gaps in her knowledge of the world.
She is very lovely, childlike, and innocent in many ways, especially when relaxed or in the company of a man. Yet she has bloodlust, having come to find killing very empowering. A bit of an addictive thrill-seeker. She likes swordplay and is very attracted to the thrill of killing, with its attendant rush of control and power.
She also likes men, and considers herself a connoiseuse delighting in the appreciation of the different 'flavors' of men and the variety of thrills to be obtained by that avenue. She tends to fall easily under the spell of a charming or powerful man, but will use that situation to her own advantage, and tolerate a lot if a man makes her feel good or satisfies a need. In a group, she will tend to defer to the most commanding man there, but if no one seems to be in control, she will assert herself to be the one in charge.
Publicly she maintains a reputation as a refined lovely lady and competent ranger, swordswoman, and wilderness guide, but secretively she seeks the other things that she wants, without regards to others' property rights. Occasionally among closer friends she mentions her history as a prostitute and speaks of plans to perhaps own a bordello one day.
She is amoral (without the consideration of morals, either good or evil) as it's all up to looking out for herself and seeking that which she wants. She is also prone to impulsively act upon her feelings and desires. Sometimes without due regard to caution and planning, or consideration of how her actions might affect others or even her own interests.
(6) What does she fear?
For a long time she was afraid of being recaptured to be a slave to her parents, who never loved her but only wanted to use her for their selfish purposes. Although the chances of someone looking for her nowadays is slim, from fear and habit she hides her history.
She was afraid of losing the love of her first heart's love, the one who taught her the meaning of love, her beloved mentor Ammon. But he did leave, and she was crazy with heartbreak for a quite a long time. Nowadays, she believes that he still loves her in his own way, and she could never villify him.
Most of all she fears not finding the ecstasy, excitement, and fulfillment in life that she needs and wants.
(7) What would she die for?
She would die to know transcendent surrender and ecstatic bliss, as long as she has the confidence that the Stones or something else would resurrect her, or that her soul would pass into existence in a blissful heavenly plane.
She would readily sacrifice her life to protect her two closest friends.
She would likely even still be inclined to endanger herself to preserve the life of her old mentor.
